Making a Difference

Josefina A. was told by Child Protective Services that her four-year-old daughter would be placed in foster care unless she had a twin bed for her. The mother quickly accessed her grant for the purchase. The family was able to remain intact.

Maria C. held off eating as much as possible during the pandemic so her four children would have enough food. She used her grant for groceries and a special Christmas dinner for her family.

Fernanda didn’t have enough money to buy gas in order to get to her job. The grant gave her the ability to avoid lengthy bus trips to work each day.

Desiree’s nine-year-old son wore underwear that was far too small for him because even a minimal purchase was out of her reach. Her grant helped provide new clothes for her children.
